Anna Maria as Jane Anger

Anna Maria is thrilled to be working with Shakespeare in Detroit on this season’s production of Jane Anger. She cannot wait to introduce Detroit audiences to the genius that is Jane!

Jane Anger is a fiery feminist comedy where a forgotten woman storms Shakespeare’s plague quarantine to reclaim her genius—and the spotlight. It’s 1606, the plague is raging, and William Shakespeare is very sick… with writer’s block. Unhappily quarantined with his peasant apprentice, the Bard tries in vain to write his next great masterpiece. Up through the window climbs Jane Anger, a Cunning Woman with a massive sack, and a scheme to change history.

Directed by Sam White.

Performances run October 16-19, 2025. Ticket are currently on sale online.
